What Publishing does
IBM Engineering Lifecycle Optimization - Publishing (PUB), formerly IBM Rational Publishing Engine (RPE), generates document-style reports and requirements traceability automatically. It extracts data from IBM Engineering Lifecycle Management (ELM) tools and third-party applications through XML and REST/OSLC interfaces and builds formatted, audit-ready documentation such as compliance reports, specifications and user manuals.
Data sources and output formats
Publishing can pull data from several tools at once, including IBM DOORS Next, IBM Engineering Workflow Management (formerly Rational Team Concert), IBM Engineering Test Management, IBM Rhapsody and external tools such as Atlassian Jira. Reports are generated as PDF, Microsoft Word, Excel, HTML and XSL-FO.
Templates and automation
A graphical template editor (Document Studio and Launcher) and web-based generation (Document Builder) let teams create, share and reuse report layouts. Scheduled runs, batch processing and command-line automation support continuous compliance and large-scale document generation.
Licences and services
EVOCEAN sells IBM Publishing licences and renewals, and supports teams with template building and coaching. Licence scope, setup and commercial terms are agreed for your environment.
Related tools
IBM ELM and IBM Rhapsody are described on their own pages.
