IBM Requirements Quality Assistant

Use an AI assistant to improve the quality of requirements as you write them.

IBM Engineering Requirements Quality Assistant helps to improve the quality of requirements when you write them. As a result your design and test team will also be more effective. Defects are substantially reduced. Further, costs of reviews are very much reduced helping to focus time on the real issues. All leading to reduced time to market.

Requirements Quality Assistant (RQA) is based on IBM Watson power. Using AI in Requirements Engineering empowered by Watson Natural Language Understanding, the Requirements Quality Assistant offers suggestions for quality improvements trained with the INCOSE Guidelines for Writing Good Requirements.  The following issues are tested: Unclear actors or users, compound requirements, negative requirements, escape clause, missing units, missing tolerances, ambiguity, passive, incomplete requirements, and unspecific quantities.

Main Goals of IBM Engineering Requirements Quality Assistant

Reduce Requirements Errors and Project Failures

The requirements analysis phase takes up only 2 percent of total design time, but poor requirements account for more than half of all engineering errors.

Reduce Costs and focus resources

The cost of correcting errors increases exponentially as a project progresses. Thus improving requirements early in the process decrease product development costs and delays by catching errors earlier and reducing rework substantially. Requirement reviews are tedious and need a lot of pre-work. RQA helps to focus on where it is most needed.

Strengthen Requirements

With RQA you isolate requirement issues before you send for manual human review. Further you receive suggestions for improvement based upon a score provided by RQA Assistant – help also to prioritise.

Improve Customer Satisfaction

An early emphasis on satisfying clear requirements leads to better collaboration between different departments and customers , and thus more responsive products and happier clients.

Improve Productivity

In addition, writing complete, consistent and accurate requirements can be tedious, especially if the language is not your mother tongue. This is even more true for new employees. Getting requirements right faster and with the ease from the integrated assistant, at the time when you need it leads to better employee satisfaction and greater products. As a result, you will require less rework and you create more time for value added tasks. Further, as such, you can focus your reviews on the correct meaning and completeness of the requirements and not 0n the correct writing of a requirement.

Customers about our services

Bernina International AG

„For Bernina, abstraction, simulation, reuse and automatic code generation are central for a short time-to-market … and therefore the key of our success!"

Giovanni Annunzio

System Architect

Bernina International AG

„In earlier days, we launched one new product model every year – today several thanx to re-use, which also reduces the time needed for testing significantly."

Giovanni Annunzio

System Architect

Kern AG

„Even if the change to Rhapsody required at first additional investment and effort – we have never regretted our decision. The fully automatic code generation from the model makes our life easier!“

Andreas Dubach

Head of Development Systems

Mettler Toledo AG

„Now the advantages of our solid foundation work will have a large impact. A model is easy to adapt and maintain and new functions can be integrated very fast. In combination with the automatic code generation and testing we now will be strikingly faster… with a consistent high quality. Today we save time and money – not least thanks to IBM Rational Rhapsody!"

Wolfgang Boos

Head of Software

soplar s.a. – Training

„Starting to use Rational Rhapsody®without coaching or training is not recommended. Understanding the why behind certain processes is essential to working effectively. Training with EVOCEAN was very valuable for me in this regard."

Vitali Mozgovoi

Software Developer

Phonak Communication AG

„Model Driven Development with Rational Rhapsody® was a critical success factor for developing inspiro within the required schedule and market needs. Thanks to EVOCEAN's support, we were able to implement the tool quickly and apply the methodology effectively."

Rainer Platz

Head of R&D

Bosch

"Ein grosses Lob an den sehr motivierten Trainer. Der Trainingsinhalt wird sehr kurzweilig und auch unterhaltsam vermittelt. Methodisch sehr gut war auch die jeweiligen Trainingstage am Ende nochmals Revue passieren zu lassen. Frank Braun konnte auch jede Frage beantworten und hat auch versucht, sofern der zeitliche Rahmes es erlaubte, auf angesprochenen Themen einzugehen."

Bosch

A warm praise to the very motivated trainer. The training content is conveyed in a very enjoyable and entertaining way. It was also very good to review the respective training days at the end. Frank Braun was able to answer every question and also tried, as far as time allowed, to address further topics raised.

Bernina International AG

„Thanks to the models we can visualise new functions and dependencies. A picture says more than a 1'000 words and the graphically modelled abstraction makes life much easier for us developers. At the same time, the automatic code generation based on the models takes over a substantial part of our work!“

„Thanks to the fully automatic code generation with Rhapsody® we could accelerate the software development.“
