IBM Requirements Quality Assistant

Use an AI assistant to improve the quality of requirements as you write them.

IBM Engineering Requirements Quality Assistant helps to improve the quality of requirements when you write them. As a result your design and test team will also be more effective. Defects are substantially reduced. Further, costs of reviews are very much reduced helping to focus time on the real issues. All leading to reduced time to market.

Requirements Quality Assistant (RQA) is based on IBM Watson power. Using AI in Requirements Engineering empowered by Watson Natural Language Understanding, the Requirements Quality Assistant offers suggestions for quality improvements trained with the INCOSE Guidelines for Writing Good Requirements.  The following issues are tested: Unclear actors or users, compound requirements, negative requirements, escape clause, missing units, missing tolerances, ambiguity, passive, incomplete requirements, and unspecific quantities.

Main Goals of IBM Engineering Requirements Quality Assistant

Reduce Requirements Errors and Project Failures

The requirements analysis phase takes up only 2 percent of total design time, but poor requirements account for more than half of all engineering errors.

Reduce Costs and focus resources

The cost of correcting errors increases exponentially as a project progresses. Thus improving requirements early in the process decrease product development costs and delays by catching errors earlier and reducing rework substantially. Requirement reviews are tedious and need a lot of pre-work. RQA helps to focus on where it is most needed.

Strengthen Requirements

With RQA you isolate requirement issues before you send for manual human review. Further you receive suggestions for improvement based upon a score provided by RQA Assistant – help also to prioritise.

Improve Customer Satisfaction

An early emphasis on satisfying clear requirements leads to better collaboration between different departments and customers , and thus more responsive products and happier clients.

Improve Productivity

In addition, writing complete, consistent and accurate requirements can be tedious, especially if the language is not your mother tongue. This is even more true for new employees. Getting requirements right faster and with the ease from the integrated assistant, at the time when you need it leads to better employee satisfaction and greater products. As a result, you will require less rework and you create more time for value added tasks. Further, as such, you can focus your reviews on the correct meaning and completeness of the requirements and not 0n the correct writing of a requirement.

Customers about our services

soplar s.a. – Training

„Starting to use Rational Rhapsody®without coaching or training is not recommended. Understanding the why behind certain processes is essential to working effectively. Training with EVOCEAN was very valuable for me in this regard."

Vitali Mozgovoi

Software Developer

Bernina International AG

„The architecture must be set up in the right way and in conformity with the requirements of model driven development – right from the beginning! I strongly recommend to seek for the support of an external, experienced Rhapsody specialist as for example supplied by EVOCEAN and to model the architecture together.“

Giovanni Annunzio

System Architect

Schindler Elevator Ltd.

„Seamless integration of the development environment is one of our critical success criteria. Model Driven Development with Rational Rhapsody®allows us to generate the code for the target platform direct from the UML model. Integrating the debugger saves us enormous amounts of time in developing complex, embedded real-time applications. Thanks to EVOCEAN's support, today we can use this tool efficiently."

Juan Carlos Abad

Project Manager

Mettler Toledo AG

„Development in the embedded area should be platform independent and the used tools should support this!“

Wolfgang Boos

Head Software Development

Bernina International AG

„Dank der Modelle können wir neue Funktionen und Abhängigkeiten visualisieren. Ein Bild sagt mehr als 1‘000 Worte und die grafisch modellierte Abstraktion macht uns Entwicklern das Leben sehr viel einfacher. Gleichzeitig nimmt uns die mit dem Modell verbundene Codegenerierung einen grossen Teil der Arbeit ab!“

Giovanni Annunzio

System Architect

Bernina International AG

„In earlier days, we launched one new product model every year – today several thanx to re-use, which also reduces the time needed for testing significantly."

Giovanni Annunzio

System Architect

SIX Financial Information Ltd

„The EVOCEAN continuous improvement method stabilized our processes and had a positive influence on the quality and on the satisfaction of the employees. I would recommend to use this approach at any time. Continuous improvement must become a part of everyday work."

Michael K. Steinhöfel-Cordova

Head of Quality Management

Bernina International AG

„Abstraktion, Simulation, Wiederverwendung und automatische Codegenerierung sind bei Bernina zentral für eine kurze Time-to-Market… und somit der Schlüssel zum Erfolg!“

Giovanni Annunzio

System Architect

Hamilton Medical AG – Rhapsody

„The direct coupling of design and code with Rhapsody helps us managing the complexity of our products more easily, as design and code remain consistent in the long term.“

Andreas Anderegg
